Spring Trade fair 2011  collections  theme was somewhat related with festival fun.


Festival fever from Glastonbury to Bestival is about trends in  spots , stars and stripes.

Wear something that has got to do with polka dots ,circles and colours picked from summer rainbow.
Or dress up with an
Oversized silhouettes  accessorized with some patchwork and placing whole heap of juxtaposition together   and its all done.

To simplify it into a  term its more Tacky fashion where the styling is ready to rock on vast kaleidoscope of vibrant colors ,something vintage and handmade collaborated .

Dust Off Mini Moke Go Retro

This year's Hot topic is Vintage and retro look from Spring Trade Fair to high street fashion .

 Let me take you back to the time of mod fashion movement of pillbox hats by Jackie Kennedy , mini skirts ,coloured and patterned tights by Mary Quant .

Yes the days of  diverse trends at Carnaby street and listening to the Radio Caroline and shaking with Beatles.
People were focusing on colours and mismatched patterns.
Jar and juxtapose trends ! Hippy movement in those bell bottoms and paisley prints.
Decade of 1960 's that broke the traditional fashion trends and the world was styled effortlessly .

Vintage is ON !! SO

Dust off the fun cars MG and Triumph ,  drive in exotic E-Type Jaguar , cruise in Mini  or Cortina -the small car with a big difference .Retro look is back .Dressing tight and topping it up with flower  power . Throw in some geometrics , abstracts and psychedelic prints are you are ready to rock.

 This weekend i just been looking around in  London in Chiswick High Street the place i just enjoy going  for shopping . Hight Street is packed with fashion shops from one end to other ....to list a few ..... Whistles , Sisley ,Blink ,Fat face , Phase eight ,Lara fasion ,Noa Noa ,Wild Swan ,United colors of benetton ,Fino ...quite a lot actually and very busy cafes .

But my center of attraction this time was Phase Eight .

I spotted lovely dresses in  pink's and red florals.

Oversized Shirt  is another  gorgeous iconic  piece to talk about. 

Looking back into 80's girls loved wearing boyfriend shirts . This spring summer they are re - introduced in more iconic way from oversized to extra long in length to elongate your frame  .

If you are thinking to buy only  one item in clothes this spring then go for an Oversized shirt .The roomy sleeves ,long and easy line looks fantastic with just heels not just this you can convert your oversized shirt worn at office with relaxed trouser  into evening piece by accessorizing . A simple oversized shirt just cinching it with belt and you are done .They  effortlessly look sexy and casually chic.

Though there are many  ways to wear an oversized shirt . Team it up with opaque black tights , black heeled ankle boots and accessorize withaviator style shades and long necklace.

Button it up or unbutton it to make it look like a casual jacket with rolled up sleeves.At the end of the day its all about our own personal style of carrying it.

I have spotted  an Oversized white shirt dress  from Topshop.I love the look of  this oversized shirt dress  from New Age Constellation collection teamed with black ankle boots.The loose fitting explains the relax style and simplicity. Love the long sleeve and slight flared hem looks stylish.

Fashion seems to become more simple and basic.

The traditional white shirt with asymmetric or tail hem  seems to be in my current shopping list.

Shirts and some more shirts .

I am quite passionate about shirts and they always have a definite place in my wardrobe . The best thing about shirts are that they can be part of everyday life whatever season is.I must confess my obsession for shirts.Plain or printed embroidered or textured ,bright hues or subdued tones they are exactly what my wardrobe always do have .It can be good gift idea for anyone whose closet always have a place for shirts.I find shirts a great piece of fashion to invest in.Its something with definite use whether you are going out for an interview , for normal office routine or just in the house or going  out it can  fairly be translated to the requirement of the occassion.

I was tidying my wardrobe and came across a lovely piece of masculine shirt that made me to blog about shirts today .Also i remember the days when sometimes i used to match my dad's or brothers shirt with a pair trouser to wear .I am sure many of you must have done something like that !

We all are familiar with Paul Smiths signature style of masculine - feminine womenswear .


Lets take a look into his Spring Summer 2011 collections and get some idea of how to style in a shirt or how to carry a shirt this season.








 Here are images of Paul Smith's very masculine style women's shirts in most sort out colours of black and white apart from  rich colour pallete of indigo ,navy ,forest green and purple .

Leaf printed chiffons ,tangerines on trend ,polka dots worn with cropped trousers just above the ankles with jaunty necktie's .Not to miss their hairdo and cat -eye sunglasses.

 Last time i blogged about Christopher Kane's Neons and tints of neons can be seen on the sole of heeled mules in Paul Smiths collection. So if we try to put two things together Neons are in . Hence make sure you have something in neon in your wardrobe this season. Loads of tailoring yet sexy .

Not just Colours but explosion of Colours exactly like those we see in neon markers which comes in a package of  six bright fluorescent colors , blue , green, yellow , orange  , pink  and white we often use for highlighting the text .But this was not in the case of Christopher Kane i hope he didn't use it for highlighting instead he used these colours a way forward by colouring the outfits  completely in neons in his Spring Summer 2011 Ready to Wear collection. Purpose behind markers is to get eye catching display and for Christopher it highlighted his career . Christopher Kane has won the BFC Fashion  Fund .

Here are few images of his ready to wear collection which is fabulous but some might not like to get noticed like candies in these pieces.These colours have more connection with Asian outfits as they have more colourful pallete .Not just the colours but few pieces in beaded motifs look like being inspired by Indian suits or asian culture.

Silhouettes  are very lady like and simple with round and V neckline mostly pleated and textured. The tucks and pleats are beautifully highlighted in contrasts of neon on neon or neon and white.

Congrats Christopher Kane ,you have done it . Keep it up.

Life is too busy with work , home , family and so many things on the list to do . Can we really follow every single trend particularly the trends in lingerie .

On asking few friends i found that some don't bother looking for trends for lingerie so far they find their underwear is comfortable to fill the basic necessity but few do look for something that is according to occassion and tasteful .

As no spring season is ever without a floral fashion so is this year . Floral lingeries are IN this year. They are available in floral prints ,embroidered florals and lacy flower patterns . These hottest trends in lingerie of heritage florals are inspired from vintage patterns and prints where every set of lingerie depicts the beauty and femininity in them .

Another trend you need to watch out for 2011 is " Animal Prints " As we all know 2011 is the year of celebration of forest so the theme in fashion is also picked from nature and forest.Animal printed lingerie are for those who want to stand out for these prints create daring and dashing looks .So this season if you are looking to boost your looks and wanna look bold so then try out an animal prints.Many bright bras and briefs are available  in high street stores .


Next for fun and flirty looks you can pick a lingerie in polka dots. Polka dots in blacks ,blues ,whites and pinks are great idea to cover the body with some flirty spots.
